Blogpost #1: Feeling and Emotions

Good day I’m Renelyn Palafox taking up Multimedia Arts in Asia Pacific College. This is my first time to write a blog and decided to search about Feeling and Emotions. As an artist we express our feeling and emotion on our art work. Each art works have meaning, you cannot see the true essence of a work until you know the true emotion within.

Emotions play important role in our daily lives. We make our decision based on our feeling and emotion, when we are happy our decision has positive feedback, but when were sad our decision make worse because our mind were not working properly.

color of the surrounding depend of your emotion

After searching on the internet I found an article entitled “Ariana, Goddess of Colours and Emotions” by storycat12 , Ariana is the Goddess of Colors and Emotions. Aphrodite gave Ariana her name which means "Holy" she gave that name to her because she felt that Ariana was holy and a gift from the fates. In the beginning, Ariana was very strange at that time but as she grew older she revealed her true powers. The colors of the surrounding depend on Ariana’s feelings; if Ariana is mourning the bright color turns dark. In my own perspective if the feelings of Ariana can see in the colors of surrounding, then we people can see the true feeling or emotions in our eyes because eyes are the windows in to our souls.

According to storycat12 “A man grieving then loss of his wife. She kneeled before him and mourned with him. Miles away, the happy green turned to a sharp forest green. The bright yellow turned black, and every other happy color turned dark, as Ariana mourned.”

In this statement says that if Ariana is happy the color of the surrounding turns bright, and if she’s mourning it turns dark. In short the color of the surrounding depends on the feeling of Ariana.

I also read an article entitled "Exoression of Emotions" by Kendra Cherry. She states there that you need energy to understand things better. She also state that there are different ways of emotions, the verbal and non-verbal. Verbal is how you express what you feel through speaking while non-verbal are emotions you kept inside like love, anger and happiness but you express it through facial expression.  She also states that there are six Happiness, Surprise, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, Fear.

According to Kendra Cherry “In his 1872 book The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals, famed naturalist Charles Darwin argued that human expressions of emotion were both innate and universal across cultures. Researcher and emotion expert Paul Eckman has found that, for the most part, the facial expressions used to convey the basic emotions tend to be the same across cultures.”

Charles Darwin who is a naturalist who says that emotions or facial expressions are the same even in different cultures and Paul Eckman supported and proved this. In my perspective I don't think that if we have different cultures we would have different facial expressions we are all people we have feelings and emotions we only differ in our ways or our culture.

To sum it all, we cannot hide what we feel especially if we are hurt so much. Feelings are expressed physically like facial expression, faster heartbeat, and behaviors such as aggression, crying, or covering the face with hands. We act out what we feel even if we hide it from others. But not all feelings are physical there are also feelings that is kept inside like anger.
